About Playwright, Producer, and Director, Lee A. Harris

Lee A. Harris is a celebrated playwright, producer, and director known for his innovative approach to live theater and concert performances, as a highly successful and sought after music promoter. A trailblazer in the industry, Harris made history as the director and producer of "When the Child Cries," the very first gospel play to be performed in a casino setting. His commitment to high-quality production and storytelling continues to drive the mission of L. Arnold Productions, ensuring every show is an unforgettable experience.

Harris graduated from Rowan’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1974. He is an award-winning producer and director. In 1980, he founded L. Arnold Productions. Four years later, he staged and toured “When the Child Cries.” Its success since then encouraged the National Association of Colored Women’s Clubs Inc. to request he tour his play as a benefit to their regional scholarship funds. The family-oriented production has toured at a minimum of 50 cities across the United States! 

Beyond this milestone, Harris’s career has been defined by a relentless drive to push the boundaries of theatrical entertainment. His visionary leadership, most notably in bringing the first gospel play to a casino stage, has solidified his reputation as a pioneer who bridges the gap between traditional theater and modern entertainment venues.
